Inaugural Golf Outing on June 1, helping the non-profit organization benefiting differently-abled
individuals raise thousands of dollars.
Special Compass, based in nearby Cooper City, Fla., creates life-changing experiences for the differently-abled individuals by promoting inclusion in the community using athletic events and building opportunities for independent living. They recruit “power buddies” who race with differently-abled persons, allowing everyone to enjoy an athletic race. Its mission states, “Special Compass envisions a world in which differently-abled people have the opportunity to participate fully in a wide range of community and athletic activities, enhancing their confidence and sense of self.”
The golf tournament served as a major fundraising effort for the non-profit and included tournament prizes, gift bags, drinks and snacks on the course, and a lunch.
This charity hits close to home for Conversion Whale’s Chief Legal Officer, Eric Masson, who is actively involved as both a board member and a frequent racer for Special Compass events. Masson and Phil Cruz, director of procurement for Dental Whale Savings Network, participated in the golf outing on behalf of Conversion Whale.
